BEAUTY UNRAVELED

We live in a world where beauty counts. When we encounter it we recognize it.
People from different cultures agree on who is beautiful.

There is a series of standards
that everybody recognizes,
even if not everyone is attracted
by who is considered beautiful.

However, when we consider carefully what beauty is – and the studies confirm it – we discover that when others judge our degree of beauty, base their evaluation on the way we present ourselves, on self-esteem, and on our personality.

Beauty is, therefore, a way of influencing other people’s perception.

This means that we must not consider beauty only as a passive attribute, a gift bestowed on us by heaven, but a way of bringing others to a positive judgement of our appearance. Everybody can realize it if they learn to use and manage the elements that make up image: clothes, posture, makeup, hair, energy, body language and body image.

This new way of looking at beauty doesn’t mean the we believe that beauty doesn’t count – we all know it does. It simply changes the perspective, from a passive attribute, to an active achievement.

One of the fundamental aspects that we look at when we judge other people’s appearance is the degree of control we believe they have on it. If the look they present seems artificial, it will be judged negatively.

For this reason any manipulation of appearance must take into consideration who we are, our personality, so that what we project doesn’t look intentionally manipulated or false, but a natural way of being which comes from the self.

And this can be learned

Let's analyse in detail each of the elements:
