To be out of shape has not only opposite
aesthetical effects, but it creates imbalances in physical and mental
energy. Healthy and fit people have the energy, the strength and
the mental attitude to focus on the important areas of their life.
It’s better to
start certain activities under the control of your physician, but
other activities such as walking
or swimming, which are two of the
best aerobic activities, don’t have to be approved by a physician
– you need only to be motivated to move.
We know that it’s difficult
to start exercising to correct old habits, but you don’t have choice,
unless you want to feel older and not live life at its maximum.
Don’t worry. I’m not suggesting
you start exercising to prepare yourself to participate to a marathon.
However, we all have to exercise to become more aerobic, more flexible,
and stronger, because then we will feel better, and we will look
better.
The advantages of exercise are many.
Improves vigour, flexibility, strength, energy. After a half
hour fast walk, the tension of the day is gone. You will wonder
why you were worried before.
You will develop strength. All men and women must be strong. Especially
women, have to be strong physically as much as they already are
mentally.
Exercise banishes the blues. Yes, a good daily sweat changes your
mood, and gives you a charge that it’s equal to good sex.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT PROGRAM FOR YOU
Some people, especially
women, prefer to exercise at home, alone, with the help of a videotape.
They like their intimacy and the fact they can build strength at
their own pace. The only problem is that, when we exercise alone,
we do not make pressure on ourselves enough or we don’t develop
well as when we are under the supervision of a trainer or we exercise
with other people, women and men who have similar goals.
To become members of a gym can be intimidating. If you are a woman,
all women seem younger and thinner than you. If you are a man, all
men seem more muscled and more endowed than you. And, at the beginning,
you can feel you don’t belong because the groups are formed.
If this is your first experience, don’t give up. First, look for
the gym right for you. Then, if you go regularly – at least 3-4
times a week at the same hours – you’ll feel soon part of the group,
and, when you’ll make some friends, you will realize that everybody
has the same insecurities about their bodies like you do, it does
not matter how much fit they seem.
A good exercise program has to be right for you and you have to
like it if you do it regularly. You should not let a week go without
having done at lest 6 or 7 activities for 20 minutes.
To walk more and faster is the best way to start, while
considering other more interesting ways to exercise.
To start you have to try several things. Discover what’s right
for you and do it regularly.
Diet
and exercise are strictly connected, to catch the advantages of
both. One doesn’t work without the other. I’ve seen many persons
in my gym exercise frantically, consuming just with aerobic exercise
one thousand calories a day, and continually remain the same weight
or, worse, losing some fat and regaining it immediately, and never
being capable of reaching the hoped for fitness, because their diet
was wild.
Take care of your
body, protect it, give it the right food, exercise it and find the
time to relax, to achieve a beautiful confident image.
